With these enriching opportunities, our program empowers young musicians to explore their creative potential and build lifelong appreciation for the art of music, while music classes starting as early as pre-K ensure a solid foundation for musical exploration.

Catholic Faith in Practice

Catechesis of the Good Shephard

Pre-K through First Grade

Children aged 3 to 6 are uniquely receptive to the fundamental aspects of our faith, particularly the profound message of God's love, as embodied in the life and resurrection of Jesus, the Good Shepherd. By engaging with materials related to the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, these young children can tangibly connect with the mystery of God. The core of their catechesis centers on the Parable of the Good Shepherd, where Jesus reveals Himself as the caring Shepherd who calls each child by name, and these children, in turn, learn to listen to His voice and follow His guidance.

Furthermore, as these 3-6 year-olds embark on their spiritual journey, they gradually immerse themselves in the Eucharistic mystery. This immersion starts with the introduction of the items used on the altar and progresses to the essential gestures of preparation, the chalice, the epiclesis, the offering, and the sign of peace. As they observe and understand each of these gestures individually, the Mass begins to unfold as the Sacrament of the Gift. Through this experience, children gain insight into the historical significance of the liturgy, connecting it with the events of the Last Supper, Christ's crucifixion, and His triumphant resurrection.

Second through Eight Grade

Following their experience with the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, students in grades first through 8th embark on a journey to delve deeper into the Catholic faith by actively engaging with the sacraments of First Holy Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation. These pivotal milestones in their spiritual development serve as significant touchpoints, allowing them to grow in their understanding and practice of the Catholic faith. Religion classes become a platform for them to explore these sacraments, fostering a profound connection between their faith and their actions.

In these classes, students are encouraged to not only learn about the sacraments but also to embrace the Catholic faith in action. They become active members of the faith community by participating in prayer and various religious activities, such as attending Mass, prayer services, and the Stations of the Cross. Additionally, they are inspired to put their faith into practice through service projects that align with the values of St. Pius X Catholic Church. This holistic approach to religious education empowers students to embody the core principles of Catholicism, fostering a sense of unity, compassion, and purpose within the broader faith community.
