Technology is integrated into all aspects of the curriculum so students can gain the confidence and skills they need in today's technological society. A building-wide computer network brings technology into classrooms, while students attend classes in our two networked computer labs and use a mobile wireless lab to reinforce skills in all curriculum areas.

Students use multimedia to learn interactively and work on class projects. They use the Internet to do research, engage in projects, and to communicate. The new technologies allow them to think analytically and critically and to work collaboratively.

In Technology, projects are geared toward assisting students:

  • Become socially aware and more confident
  • Communicate effectively about complex processes
  • Become independent learners and self-starters
  • Work well collaboratively
  • Better their writing skills
  • Better understand and broaden their view of mathematics
  • Increase ability to teach others, and
  • Improve problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Beginning with the Early Childhood Program, students attend technology classes in our two computer labs. By the time students leave eighth grade, they are proficient in keyboarding and are in advanced levels of:

  • Microsoft Word
  • Power Point
  • Publisher
  • Excel
  • Web Page Design
  • Web Quest
  • Programming.

Our older students are also very well-versed in the safe use of the Internet for information gathering and research. In addition to technology skills, students learn how to operate other technology equipment, including:

  • iPad 2
  • Smartboards
  • Laptops
  • ELMO projectors
  • LCD projectors
  • Digital cameras
  • HP printers
  • CD burners
  • Scanners
